Spring and summer bring blossoms, warm weather, and a lot more bee activity across Central Texas. For most people a sting is a brief nuisance; for those with allergies it can be serious. A little awareness goes a long way.
Simple ways to avoid stings
- Skip heavy floral perfumes and bright floral patterns outdoors
- Keep food and sweet drinks covered at picnics
- Stay calm and move away slowly if a bee investigates — don't swat
- Wear shoes in grassy areas where ground nests may hide
Know the signs of an allergy
Mild reactions cause local swelling and redness. Seek emergency care for hives spreading beyond the sting, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or dizziness — these can signal a severe reaction.
Found a hive near where you gather?
If a colony has settled near a patio, playground, or trail you use often, don't risk repeated stings. We'll relocate it safely, same-day in most cases.
